The EBSA Prize

EBSA Prize and Lecture

All member societies are invited to nominate candidates for the EBSA Prize to be awarded at the Biophysics Congress. The winner of the Prize receives €2000 and presents a lecture at the Congress. The statutes of the prize were specified at the EBSA General Assembly held at the Munich Congress in 2000. These are:

The Prize will be given to a promising young scientist. It is expected that the age of the recipient will not exceed 40 years at the time the prize is given (unless special circumstances apply). Candidates should be working in one of the EBSA member countries. Nominations and a document of no more than two pages long, justifying the choice of nominee by the national societies (maximum 2 nominations from any society) should be sent - preferably in electronic format - to the EBSA secretary. A publication list, short CV (not exceeding 2 pages) of the candidate and reprints of maximum 3 papers can be attached to the nomination.

The decision is made by the Executive Committee based on the scientific excellence, with the possibility to call in external reviewers.

The next Biophysics Congress will be in Genoa in 2009. A call for nominations will appear approximately 6 months before this meeting.
